I’ve been delaying this blog post basically since the day I knew I could write it. And since the day Cooper was discharged, I wasn’t ready to relive it. Being a NICU mom is hard and unless you are one, you won’t know how it feels.

Cooper’s Birth Story

Cooper’s birth was crazy to say the least. A pregnancy with placenta previa is scary & unpredictable (read more about this here). Due to that, he was 6 weeks early and spent quite a bit of time in the NICU.

Placenta Previa

After I posted on Instagram about my diagnosis with placenta previa and my 3 week hospital stay, I had so many messages! It was very clear many of you had no idea this condition even existed. And I was one of those people.

Andrew at 18 Months!

Our boy is a year and a half years old! I know I say it every time, but he is honestly growing so much faster than I ever thought he would!

We made it! Andrew’s officially a year old. Matt & I have officially survived our first year as parents. It’s still pretty surreal.

I’m writing this and honestly, just keep thinking about how the next update I write will be when he is a full year old. Which just makes me want to cry so that’s fun. But seriously time flies so much faster when you’re watching a child grow. It’s crazy to me that he’s officially been in the world as long as he was in my belly.

Nearly 7 and a half years ago, a girl met a boy and they fell in love. The end.

Just kidding! It definitely wasn’t that simple. We were lucky though. We’re each other’s first serious relationship and somehow have worked out and are going strong.
